Normally, when a newborn comes into my studio, I get my chest all puffed out like I’m prepped for battle. I call myself the baby whisperer. I have all my tools ready. And I knock it out. I began this session the same way. I prepped Miss Noel and began my usual calming soothing warm cozy stuff. And guess what she did. She puffed her chest out, crossed her arms, stuck out her tongue and said, “Nope, I ain’t sleeping.” Ok, maybe she didn’t do any of that. But, she sure as heck didn’t sleep. I am really glad she knew better because I can give her some awesome shots that hopefully her grandkids will laugh at some day! Welcome to the Army Noel!
Every year the West Point Women’s Club hosts a night of fun benefitting their scholarship fund which is generously granted to the military children and spouses of West Point. The night includes a silent auction with baskets complete with priceless experiences, paintings, baskets filled with goodies, themed baskets, etc. Among some of the highest bid baskets were the progressive General’s dinner for 20: a dinner hosted by the Superintendent, Commandant, and Dean’s of the United States Military Academy which brought $1800! A night of fun wouldn’t be complete without debauchery. In one of the three rooms at the West Point Club was a gambling room with cards, craps, roulette and dancing! In the last room was Bingo, which to my understanding, got pretty exciting! Upon entrance there was 2 open bars and me! I was honored to be asked to provide a photobooth for the guests of Viva Las Vegas. The guests did not disappoint. Much fun was to be has by all. Here’s a preview of some of the photobooth shots! Much thanks to the Women’s Club President, Renee Callahan, Viva Chairwoman, Ginger Levine, and always, my assistant Grace!
No photobooth, or photo in general for that matter, would be complete without a photobomb by Renee!

Amy, Ryan, Amelia and Lucas are about as Army Strong as you get. Amy is a certified personal trainer, who also happens to be a stay at home Mom of 2 beautiful children. Thank goodness for her physical strength because her son Lucas is so heavy I literally pulled a muscle in my back when I was lifting him! He’s a year younger than my son, Liam – but weights probably twice as much! Ryan is a professor here at West Point. With many deployments under his belt (more than they can count!) he and his family have certainly endured a lot! Amelia, her sweet oldest child is maybe the most photogenic child I’ve ever photographed. I’m not good at seeing who will photograph well before I actually photograph them. Of course, Amelia is beautiful little girl, as all little girls are, but when I got home I was astounded (in a good way) and how well her beauty translates onto the camera. I was honored to be asked to photograph them and I can’t wait to share their extended sneak peek on my blog!!
